100 days to go!

It's hard to believe that we are only 100 days out till D-Day!  Tic Toc!   I think ever since I went to the doctor last week it seems like more real.  I don't know how to explain it.  I think it was when she told me, that she would see me again in 4 weeks, and after that it would be every 2 weeks!  And next Friday marks 7 months, and in the 3rd and FINAL trimester!   I just feel like everyone has always said that pregnancy was such a long, slow process, and that just has NOT been the case for me at all!  I feel like time is running out and I have SO much to do!  So its time to really get ready!  I decided that from now on, each trip to the grocery store I'm going to pick up a pack of diapers.  You can never have too many, right!?

How do you even operate these things!?! LOL

I've also been picking out little outfits here and there for baby boy!  I mean they are just so cute, and most are under $10 so how can I not!?!  Lil' Anthony has a nice little start...  I'm now in search of the perfect outfit to bring him home from the hospital in!!!!  I saw an idea on pinterest that I want to shadow box it, along with his foot prints, hospital bracelet, and little hat, and hang in his room later.

Wardrobe... And Teeny

And these damn letters!!!!  They are 99.9% finished after this weekend...  All are painted except for ONE and that is the Z.  Because I had mod podged the hell out of it, it need a little extra TLC to bring it back to its original state.  I've really enjoyed taking the time to make them.  But I'm so ready for them to be completely finished.  There are friggin letters all over my house!  Now is the next step...  I'm going to get a piece of plywood, and mount the letters there, and then hang the plywood on the wall, like one big picture.  I hope it turns out how it is in my brain! lol But I am very happy with it so far...  It matches the bedding perfect.  I cut a piece of wrapping paper in the size of what I'm thinking for the plywood so that I would have an idea of what I'm working with.

All in all, I think I'm doing okay... We're getting there!  I should have the nursery totally finished with furniture within the next few weeks, after that I think I'll feel a little more settled and prepared.  I better have these letters on the wall this weekend!  Well at the very least mounted on my plywood!  Wish me luck! :)

Week in review!

ahhh this week was a tough one...  Just from coming back from vacation for a full week at work always sucks!  And I haven't seen much of Pat at all, with the new job one week he was on all night shift, the next week I was at the beach, and this week he's been going in at 7 am, and not getting home until 9-9:30 every night!  This new company has him going so far away from me!  My biggest fear is that he is going to be 3 hours away when I go into labor!  Ugh the anxiety!  Please dear lord don't let that happen to me!  I will FREAK out!  I am in desperate need of a date night!  I miss my little Snickey <3

Yesterday was my 6 month check up!  I can't believe how fast this time is going by...  I gained 2 lbs!  Bringing my total weight to 6 pounds.  My doctor was very pleased with my progress and congratulated me on keeping my weight under control! :)  We talked about weather or not I'm planning on breastfeeding...  I don't know why, but I'm totally weird-ed out by the whole thought of it, and I always have been.  But now that I'm getting closer and closer to D day I feel like I want the best for my baby, and I am considering doing it in the beginning, Dr. Lim suggested I do it for 2 weeks...  We'll see.   We also talked about pediatricians, and if I want my baby boy circumcised... awwwwww! LOL  it was a good visit!  Next week I have to take the dreaded diabetes test where I have to go and drink some awful concoction and get my blood work drawn... NOT looking forward to it!

And as of yesterday we are officially registered for Child birthing classes!  With Pat's new work schedule he is unable to participate in any of the evening classes during the week, so we will have to wait until the next round of Saturday classes that start September 14, its a 3 week class.  At that time I'll be 33 weeks prego!  I just hope baby doesn't come before I learn how to BREATHE! eeeeek!!

I have also scheduled a mini maternity photo shoot for Pat and I.  No weird naked lingerie maternity pix... that is so weird... Why do people do that!?  But some nice lovey dovey outdoor holding hands and kissing in the sunset pictures :)  I have never been happy with my wedding pictures so I'm really looking forward to having a big framer for the living room!!  Now...  the most important question is... What will I wear!????????????

Nurseryyyyy!!!!

Anthony's nursery is moving right along...  My dad being the master carpenter that he is used his skills and added crown molding to the room and it looks GREAT!  I'm so happy!

Poppy hard at work

Yesterday Pat put the crib together! :)  He did such a good job!  I think this may have been the first time he really put anything of substance together from start to finish without yelling, cursing, or throwing tools around!!  I tell ya, seeing that crib put together... SHIT JUST GOT REAL! :-O

Daddy Duty

Teeny helping out!

TA DAAAAAAAAA!!!! I love how the Crown Molding matches the bottom of the crib!!

Vacation!

ahhhhh vacation!  For someone who normally works 3 jobs an entire week of vacation is A M A Z I N G!  Since Pat started is new job, he wasn't able to take vacation, but my Mom was more than  happy to fill in and head to the beach with me! :):)  This was quite different than any other vacation I have taken in the past because there was NO alcohol involved! I did splurge and have one O'douls! haha

Being with my mother rather than Pat was an entirely different experience!  Pat considers vacation a time to relax and sleep in... Not true for Mommy!  I would wake up at 7am to go to the bathroom and she would have her bathing suit on, bed made, my prenatal vitamins out, my bowl and spoon ready for my oatmeal, PBJ's packed for the beach... READY!  We were on the beach every day by 9:15, and boy it was HOT, friggin heat wave hot!  the sand burned my little tootsies!  But it was worth it!  I finally got some sun on this pregnant white skin! And it feels GREAT! :)  We went to the pool, went shopping, pigged out on the Boardwalk, went to the movies, did dinner!  And was in bed by 10:30-11 every night!  It was a great trip!

That O'Douls was so cold and DELICIOUS!

Bump with a view

week in review

Pat started is brand new job this week!!  And in being in training, hes been on the graveyard shift...  Going in at 2am till 2pm!!  He's been going to bed when I'm getting off of work,I haven't seen him all this week!  So rather than sit at home all alone every night I have been keeping myself quite busy with my Momma shopping for baby!  I'm pretty sure I have been to Babies R Us every day this week!  And my brain is on super overload with finding the perfect rocking chair, and nursery bedding to go with these letters I've been obsessing over for months.  I couldn't event sleep last night with everything going through my brain!  Normally at night when I try to get to sleep I say prayers to myself (Hail Mary's and Our Father's) and last night I actually caught myself saying the ABC's! Sheesh!   I found an ABC bedding set that I'm in love with...  now the whole dilemma is that the letters that I've made for the wall I think is going to be too busy!  So, what I'm planning on  is going with  the new bedding, and redo all the letters in the colors to match the set.  Yes! I said redo allllll the letters that I've worked so hard on ><  But, it gives me something to do!

And the rocker... that's a wholeeeee other can of worms!  The one that I really liked was at Babies R Us and is now discontinued! And all the other ones seem like they are just big Lazy Boy lounge chairs for like $700 and that to me is crazy money!  I could buy an entire living room set for that!  We have literally been on the hunt!  And after some good ol googeling my mom found this from Home Depot/ Martha Stewart I love the wicker and the fact that it's white to match my crib....  I'm thinking I will have a slip cover made to match my decor! Exciting!

This morning was the follow up to my 20 week sonogram, they needed more photos of his heart feet and spine.  The appointment that was supposed to take a few minutes, ended up taking an hour and a half! Nino was in the breach position with his legs behind his head kinda like a pretzel!  It took a lot of patience and positioning Mommy to get the pics they wanted. In the end, I got a good report and he seems to be a healthy boy.  That should most likely be my final sonogram of the pregnancy...  Ill have to wait to D day to see him again!

Diapers & Bottles & Bibs OH MY!

Pat and I spent our entire Sunday afternoon roaming through the aisles of Babies R Us combing the shelves one by one, scanning all things necessary to create the Ultimate Baby Phipps Baby Registry!  Talk about overwhelming!  Bottles, bibs, diapers, car seat, stroller, pack and play, high chair, walker, bath tub, burp cloths, pacifiers etc etc etc!!!!   All in all I think we did a really good job, the only thing that I really have absolutely no clue about is bottles and nipples!  I need to do my research!  I found this super cool Kuerig-ish type of formula dispenser that I'm most interested in so far!  But again, I want to do more research on it.  It sounds super easy and convenient.

I'm so super excited for my shower!  I wonder when it will be!  I'm normally the party planner of the group, so for me to have no clue about any of that is a little weird!  All I know is someone better give me a little heads up, bc a sista needs a spray tan and I gotta make sure my weave is lookin right!

Mod Podge- Easy as ABC!

This weekend was my husbands birthday...  So I gave him a pass to go out and get drunk with his friends at the Oriole's game Saturday night.  And I decided that I would occupy myself while he was out and about and  get started on my alphabet for Anthony's nursery.  I pintrested my little heart out over the few days before hand, and I kept coming across posts about Mod Podge...  So I did what any DIYer would do, and I also searched YouTube on how to decorate wooden letters.  And again, Mod Podge kept coming up!  After watching a few videos, I ran to Wal-Mart and got me a big ol bottle!  And I sat down thinking I was just going to work on a few letters... And before I knew it, I was at AC Moore for another batch of supplies.  I was up until 1am crafting my little heart out!  And I must say I am soooo proud of myself and so happy with the way they turned out!!!  Not everything was made from Modge Podge...  Some were just painted, some were hot glue'd, and even one made of yarn!  I can't wait to get them up on the nursery wall!!
