False Alarm!!!!!!

This Saturday I thought it was happening, the moment we have all be anxiously waiting for.  Nope!

In the wee hours of early Saturday morning I got up for one of my 674683196 bathroom trips... Half asleep I feel/ hear a bit of a popping coming from "down there" my pee stream got a little more forceful and I thought to myself, hmmmm that was strange.  Nothing felt different, nothing looked different.  So I sleepily went back to bed.  When I woke up that morning, Pat was at work and when I got up, I felt a bit of a drip and noticed that my pants were rather wet.  I run to the bathroom, and again, nothing looks different, nothing feels different.  hmmmmmmmmmm...    I called my mother and she suggested that I call my doctor just to let her know, and she told me that it sounded like my water broke, and that I should go to the hospital!  OMG!  Really!?!  I called Pat, as calmly as I could and told him to please come home it was time to go....  I made him a sammy, took a shower, got myself together and waited for him to get home.  He packed up the car with all of our bags, and off we went...  Arriving at the hospital I felt a little nauseous thinking that this was gonna be IT.  The nurses were super nice and brought me in to check me, and unfortunately it was a false alarm- and there was not real reason as to what that wetness was that I woke up to, the only suggestion they had was that maybe I had peed myself!  OMG HOW EMBARRASSING!  I went to the hospital because I friggin peed myself! ughhhhhhhh  So we were sent home.  I felt so stupid!

The silver lining is that Pat and I got a test run, and I am progressing...  I was still at 2 cm dilated but now 80% effaced (I was 50% Monday)  maybe all of that raspberry leaf tea and bouncing is really working!  I did have a string of contractions last night, each lasted about 30 seconds and were roughly 15 minutes apart.  I'm really getting anxious to do this!!!  COME ONNNNNNNN BABY!  I talk to him and beg him to come out and play with me!  Hopefully at my appointment tomorrow she'll tell me that I'm like 7cm dilated and ready to push!  LOL

Operation Eviction

I am officially so large and in charge!  This picture TOTALLY sums up my life right now LOL  I even have that shirt!!  At just shy of 38 weeks this prego is cooked!  I seriously cannot bend over, touch my feet, shave, or get off of the couch without assistance!

So this past Monday was my doctor visit- and I was told that I am 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced, baby is very low and my cervix is very soft.  His heart rate was about 138 BPM.  In the past two weeks, since my last appointment I gained 4.5 lbs for a grand total of 19.    She told me that I am going to have a big boy, and in her perfect baby world, she would like me to deliver within the week.  The longer he waits to make his grand entrance into the world the larger he becomes...  And the larger he becomes the chances of having complications rapidly grow.  She also explained to me that talk of an induction wouldn't happen until I am a week PAST my due date... ughhhhh. That would mean November 15th - that is just way too long for me!  I want my Halloween baby darn it!  So its GO TIME!  FINAL MOMENTS!  Operation Eviction is underway!

I'm totally ready- Pat and I have our plan of action- bags are packed- room is done- house is clean- car seats installed- and I am anxiously waiting to get through just two more days of work until maternity leave!  Every day when the clock strikes 5:00 I quietly gather all my things because you never know - I may not be back tomorrow! (Hopefully)

So- here I am currently bouncing on my birthing ball, and drinking my 3rd cup of raspberry leaf tea of the day, waiting on Pat to take the dogs for a long walk!  I'm going to try to do everything I can to get this baby out!!!!!

Today I have been feeling a lot of pressure, and a bit of period like cramps- maybe that means something- maybe the tea and ball are working...

It would be a perfect weekend to give birth...  The Ravens are on a Bi Week this Sunday LOL

Wish me luckkkkkkkkkkkk

36 Week Sonogram

My final sonogram.  Pat and I were up and on the road this morning before the sun came up to see baby Nino one last time in utero.  This was just to check to see if he was in the proper birthing position and to get an estimate of his weight.  As we sat in the waiting room I asked Pat to make a guess as to what he thought he would weigh.  His guess was 7 lbs  I looked at him like he was completely crazy and said, no way!  My guess was about 5...  I mean I've only gained a total of 14.5 so far!

We got to see his little feet and his little toes, tiny little fingers, his little baby penis, and my favorite- she pointed out hair!!!  I've always envisioned him to come out with a full head of dark hair!!  Unfortunately his arms were hiding his face, so we did not get  a souvenir photo.  But we did get confirmation that he is head down and ready to rock!  Heart rate was roughly 130 bpm.  And everything else looked great.

Then at the very end the girl says to us, well you definitely have a big boy on your hands!  Right now he is weighing in at about 7 lbs 3 oz.  WHATTTTTTTTTTTTT!?!?!?  I can't believe it!  Pat was right on!  And I was so off!  Now that totally makes me nervous!  If he is 7lbs now...  all my books say that he should be gaining an average at about a half an oz a day! Whoa baby!

I'm scared! eeek!  I hope his fat little heiney is going to fit in the newborn outfits I packed for the hospital!

A fat & hairy little baby!  Just what I wanted!    Just like his momma! LOL

ABC Nursery

Finally!  I can say that my nursery project is complete!  After months of working on it to make it just right, I'm so excited to say I think its perfect!!!!!  I'm so proud of myself! I've never been so crafty- I did all of the letters myself, with the help of a bit of Pinterest inspiration!  Made all of the wall art, and even made the flags!   All I need now is my baby!
Last week I was feeling SO not ready- and now after this is finished, BRING ON BABY!  The Phipps' are ready to be parents :)
"You are my Sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy, when skies are grey!"

On the top left... My girlfriend Kristen, made me a shadow box filled with things from my baby shower! And all of those stuffed animals are special- On the top, the carebear is the first gift Pat ever got me , the bottom Teddy is Pats as a kid, from his late great grandmother, teddy in the middle is Nino's first bear from my mother , and that Puffalump is a gift I gave my cousin for her baby shower 25 years ago, that she gave back to me at my shower!
And all of the books given to me from my friends and family, all with special little notes to Anthony!

Nino's closet is starting to resemble Mommys!

Romeo approves of the rug! LOL

Shower THREE

This past Sunday, I was brought over to Pat's parents house to celebrate his Mom Mom's 75th birthday... Only it was a trick!  Another baby shower!  It was small and intimate, with Patrick's family and a few of my Mother In Law's girlfriends.  More gifts!  Great lil' outfits that I can't WAIT to dress him in!  Even a little Tigger costume!

It proves that Nino will be surrounded with lots of love when he makes his entrance into the world!

Thank you to all that were a part of the day :)

Doctors & Dentist

Yesterday late morning I was feeling kinda hungry, so I decided to treat myself to some yummy trail mix in the snack machine here at the office.  On the last hand full I chomp down on what feels like a rock!  WTF how the heck did a rock get in the trail mix!?!?  This is my way to get rich quick!  I wills sue the trail mix company and make millions!  Anthony's college will be paid for!!! Ugh... except it wasn't a rock!  It was my TOOTH!  That's right!  #30 decided to just break off with a mouth full of raisins and peanuts!!!  $621 later... I have a completely numb mouth and still need to go back for a root canal. WOMP! WOMP!  That was something I was NOT planning on this morning!

Yesterday afternoon was my first CHECK at the OB.  She said that I'm progressing beautifully, and that his head seems to be low, and I'm thinning and slowly and starting to dilate, not quite at 1 cm BUT progressing.  No one warned me that it HURTS to be checked!  Dear lord!  I was expecting something like a pap- OH NO! Why didn't anyone warn me?  I cannot imagine being checked while I'm in labor, and already in pain!  Shwew!   Anthony's heart rate is at 150 bpm.  And Mommy LOST a half of a pound!  Bringing my total weight gain to 14.5 lbs.  How about them apples!?!?!    Sonogram is scheduled for next Tuesday to check his size and position.  I'm so close I can't believe it!!!!!  Then the one week visits start. eeeek!

Weird.  It comes and goes.  I have also started to feel more pressure "down there"

Am I nesting?

I'm not sure, but I think I'm nesting.  With two showers under my belt and frequent stops from the FedEx & UPS man,  there are new packages coming into our home on the daily for baby Phipps.  And every day I ask myself the same ol question.. WHERE DOES IT GO?  It has really given me anxiety.  And I've found that I seem to not be able to make a decision on my own over the stupidest stuff - like OMG! What drawer am I going to put all the onsies in???  Really Krista?  Who friggin cares!?  Apparently my pregnant self really does!!  Well, this week my mom was at the house every night helping me organize and get it done!  I was really stressing about it and thinking that I didn't have enough.  Well, we took all the tags off of all the 0-3 months the pile was literally up to my knee LOL!  I think I have enough.  Everything is washed dried and I dedicated Friday night and most of the day Saturday to find homes for everything...  But it was a process!!!  I feel so much better now that I'm getting more and more organized!!!
The Before - And they wonder why I was having anxiety about it!!!

Happy 5 Year Anniversary!

Today is our 5 year wedding anniversary!  We had always told ourselves that to celebrate our fifth, we would go back to Ocho Rios, Jamaica to the hotel where we had our honeymoon and renew our vows.  Wellllll  at a week shy of 9 months pregnant, those plans obviously didn't go through!  But-  I couldn't be happier.  We are right were we should be, together, and with a baby on the way!  I love you Patty Cakes!  And I can't wait to spend the rest of eternity with you.  xoxo

Bags are packed!!!!

With 37 days till D day, I decided its time to pack it up!  I mean Kim K went 5 weeks early!  That means I could go like TONIGHT!!!!

And there it is!  My hospital bag - I'm officially ready, well, maybe not ready, ready, but... My bag is packed!  I've spent hours upon hours on Pinterest, and Google, compiling a list of what needs to go into this bag.  I'm sure there will be something I forgot!

  1. Pajamas- I've never been a PJ's kinda girl, more like a t shirt and shorts for bed... But I got two pairs AND a silky night gown... ooooh Fancy! ;)  I also packed my favorite all black cotton maxi dress, I figured if needed, I could also use that as a night gown.
  2. Socks/ Slippers
  3. Big ol Butt Grannie Panties
  4. Sports Bras- I'm not planning to breast feed, so I'm told to get the tightest sports bras and layer them on!
  5. Go Home Outfit- This was the hardest part for me... WTH should I wear home!?  Who knows, will I have a normal delivery?  C section?  I just went with a pair of leggings, T and a hoodie...  we'll see how it all  pans out soon enough!
  6. flip flops - for walking around the hospital and they can double as shower shoes
  1. Q tips
  2. tooth brushes/toothpaste
  3. mostureizer
  4. shampoo/ conditioner
  5. razor
  6. face wash
  7. lotion
  8. eos chap stick
  9. brush
  10. soap
  11. deodorant
  12. makeup wipes

  1. Bronzer
  2. Blush
  3. Gloss
  4. eyebrows
  5. mascara
  6. foundation
  7. concealer
A girl has to look good for the first time her son lays eyes on her, right!?!?

Also, not pictured I packed two bath towels for Pat and I, a change purse full of dollar bills, and change. And put a note on the bag to remember to bring a pillow and our chargers!

Daddy's bag was much more simple...  Sweats, hoodie, and t shirts.  That's about it lol!

So there they sit... waiting for transport!

Next task is baby's bag!
